What can a tenant in Florida do if the
landlord does not have an air-conditioning unit repaired properly in the peak of summer, even after a technician has attended to it on two separate occasions?
The fact is AC is not required for habitability in Florida..however heat and window screens are.
Contrary to other postings just because a unit had AC when you moved in the landlord DOES NOT have to repair or replace. Standard leases state they are provided as a convenience and they are seldom listed
as landlord repaired items.
Longtime landlord and even longer term renter now work with a local charity assisting others in finding affordable housing.
